Hey dudes and dudettes, (this word even exist?) how is it going? Did you know that our climate is quite harsh for our skin? Especially our lips. No, not that I want you guys to migrate and move to another country. Note this – every type of climate will affect our skin regardless, the only questions is – WHAT kind of skin problem? For our climate, we always associate with dried and chapped lips. I know, once we had that chapped lips, urgh – we look like a basic zombie. (Yes, of course it’s an exaggeration I know). That’s why, we want to share with you 7 tips on how to heal dried and chapped lips. Ready? Okay let’s go.TIPS NUMBER 1.
Please use non-irritating lip balm, lipstick, and other products that you apply to your lips.Many people assume that the burning, stinging, or tingling sensation on your lips after applying those product means it’s working well. No baby, no. you actually “torturing” your lips. Please, have mercy on your lips and please consider stop using those products. Ingredients that actually help to solve and sooth chapped lips:Try find product that has Castor seed oil, Ceramides, Dimethicone, Hemp seed oil, Shea butter, Sun-protective ingredients, such as titanium oxide or zinc oxideTIPS NUMBER 2.
Apply a non-irritating lip balm/lip moisturizer few times a day and BEFORE bed. If your lips very dry and cracked, like a drought season on your lips, try thick ointment, like white petroleum jelly. Ointment seals in water longer than waxes or oils. So yeah.
TIPS NUMBER 3.
Before going outdoors, please, slather on a non-irritating lip balm with SPF 30 or higher. It’s important to protect your lips from the sun. Other than your skin, the sun can burn dry, chapped lips more easily. Like I’ve mention above, find a product that has titanium oxide or zinc oxide in it, alright? AND REMEMBER, WHEN OUTDOORS, APPLY LIP BALM EVERY TWO HOURS.TIPS NUMBER 4.
Drink plenty of water. Okay, let’s use some logic here. Chapped lips are dried lips. So please drink more water to stay hydrated. And not to mention that consuming more water is good for your health too. See? Killing two birds with one stone.
TIPS NUMBER 5.
Stop licking, biting, and picking at your lips. Okay. This here. Especially the licking and biting part. I get it, if you’re doing it to feel sexy and all, it’s not wrong. But please don’t overdo it. Gonna fix your flirting game first. And if you’re doing it because you tried to moisturized your dried lips (licking), please, this can worsen the problem. As saliva evaporates, your lips become drier. And did you know, by remove those dried skin (biting and picking), it can irritates your lip’s healing process? PS: I know that lip licking is a hard habit to throw off, but please normalise using non-irritating lip balm instead okay?TIPS NUMBER 6.
Avoid holding items made of metal with your lips. Jewellery, paperclips, stapler, you name it (items that made of metal) actually can irritate your already sensitive lips. No matter what, please don’t.TIPS NUMBER 7.
Plug in a humidifier at home. Don’t have one? Get one. There’s tons of humidifier product that you can get at reasonable price. Placing a humidifier in your bedroom can especially helpful, especially when you breathe through your mouth while sleeping.
